Got a question?

We’re here to help.

  • What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the numerous compounds found in the cannabis plant. We obtain our CBD oil from the hemp plant, also known as Cannabis sativa. CBD works to improve the cardiovascular system, immune system, and neurological systems, through the Endocannabinoid System.

  • What is the endocannabinoid system and what does it do?

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a biological system first discovered in the late 1980´s and early 1990´s.

The ECS is largely comprised of endocannabinoids, receptors and enzymes that are believed to help regulate a variety of functions in humans.  These include:  sleep, mood, memory, appetite, reproduction and pain sensation. Scientists still have plenty of questions about the human endocannabinoid system and how it functions. To understand the human endocannabinoid system, it’s helpful to know a little about one of the most fundamental concepts in biology, homeostasis. The best way to understand homeostasis is to think of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The classic fairy tale illustrates the idea that the best outcome often lies somewhere in the middle, between two extremes. We do not want things too hot or too cold, but exactly right. Homeostasis is the concept that most biological systems are actively regulated to maintain conditions within a narrow range. Conditions need to be just right for our cells to maintain optimum performance and exquisite mechanisms have evolved to bring them back to the Goldilocks zone if they move outside the boundaries. The body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a vital molecular system for helping maintain homeostasis—it helps cells stay in their Goldilocks zone.

The three key components of the human endocannabinoid system are:

    • Cannabinoid receptors found on the surface of cells
    • Endocannabinoids, small molecules that activate cannabinoid receptors
    • Metabolic enzymes that break down endocannabinoids after they are used

Why do we have cannabinoid receptors and what are they?

Cannabinoid receptors sit on the surface of cells and “listen” to conditions outside the cell. They transmit information about changing conditions to the inside of the cell, kick-starting the appropriate cellular response. There are two main cannabinoid receptors: CB1 and CB2.

    • CB1 receptors are one of the most abundant receptor types in the brain. These are the receptors that interact with THC.
    • CB2 receptors are more abundant outside of the nervous system, in places like the immune system. However, both receptors can be found throughout the body

  • What are the benefits of consistent dosage?

With more cannabinoid receptors, the endocannabinoid system becomes more active and more

sensitive to stimulation by cannabinoids. Consistently taking a “daily dose” of CBD oil (at least twice daily)

helps maintain a sustained level of CBD in your system and promotes an effective endocannabinoid

    system.

  • What is the best time of day to take CBD?

Experts believe that both the dose and the time of the day can, indeed, make a difference in how your body responds to CBD. You can use this knowledge to maximize the benefits of your CBD products.

There is no perfect answer to this question. The best method is to listen to your body and adjust your dosage schedule to what works best for you.  Most people start with a dose with breakfast and one-two hours before settling down for bed.

  • How long does CBD take to work? How long do the effects of CBD last?

We recommend taking a serving 2-3 times a day as indicated above for 4 to 6 weeks, tracking when you take CBD and how it makes you feel. A dose of CBD lasts for 4-6 hours. Changes can be small and difficult to notice at first. Taking notes can help you identify a difference over time. Though your body’s response to CBD varies by the individual due to metabolism, many people find success by taking their CBD two to three times per day, at designated times.

After the first 4 to 6 weeks, we suggest upgrading to the next dose if the benefits have hit a plateau. Once you have personal experience,  you can fine-tune how CBD fits within your daily routine.

  • How often should I take CBD?

We recommend taking a serving 2-3 times a day as indicated above for 4 to 6 weeks, tracking when you take CBD and how it makes you feel. After 4-6 weeks, adjust dosing up or down to maximize benefits to your individual needs.

  • Are CBD Products Safe?

Though it's often well-tolerated, CBD can cause side effects, such as dry mouth, diarrhea, reduced appetite, drowsiness and fatigue. CBD can also interact with other medications you're taking, such as blood thinners. As with all supplements, consult a doctor with any individual concerns.

  • Does CBD have any side effects?

Clinical research has shown that CBD oil can trigger side effects. This is rare; severity and type can vary from one person to the next. In most of the clinical research studies, users were able to avoid these symptoms by taking CBD on a full stomach or by decreasing the dose. Consuming a healthy fat at meal time may also help reduce side effects.

    Possible Side Effects

    Anxiety

    Changes in appetite

    Changes in mood

    Diarrhea

    Dizziness

    Drowsiness

    Dry mouth

    Nausea

  • How does CBD make you feel?

Among the many benefits that our users experience, some of the main ones are a sense of calm for focus, relief from everyday stresses, help in recovery from exercise-induced inflammation, and more. One of many powerful compounds found in the flowers and leaves of the hemp plant, cannabidiol (CBD) has been known to support the body and mind in various ways.

  • What is a Terpene?

Terpenes are aromatic compounds that create the distinct scent of many plants like cannabis, pine, lavender, and oranges. If you have ever had a waft of particularly aromatic plants such as lavender, you’ve encountered terpenes.

However, creating the aroma of hemp and other plants is not the only purpose of these important chemicals. Terpenes serve a protective function for the plant and may also have some health benefits to the human body. We isolated terpenes from three Cannabis strains to enhance the therapuetic benefits of our CBD oil. They are Blue Dream, GS-Cookies, & Super Lemon Haze.
